The indicator or other market that always leads THE market, the one all traders deperately seek, does not exist. It is a fantasy, a fallacy, a marketer's dream and a traders nightmare. I admit you were drawn here by the promising headline on somewhat false pretenses. However, in my own defense you will actually learn something extremely valuable from this post as opposed to the other sites that promise you what they can't deliver. So based on that... don't be a hater.

What you know, what you've learned, what you understand about how the market works, that's as close to a true leading indicator as you'll ever get. Some will say that Price is the true leading indicator. I say that price is merely a shadow of the decisions that traders made seconds, minutes, hours, days, even weeks ago. The price you see on the chart at this moment is the shadow cast by those decisions.

This post could have easily been called "the trend is your friend" or "don't fight the trend" or "friends don't let friends call..." you get the picture. I hope you get the picture because tonight our post is primarily a continuation of last night's theme and will consist mostly of pictures because a picture is worth a thousand words right?

So if I'm talking about the trend, why use Order Flow as the subject? The two are different. No one would argue that today was a trend down day but as you can see from the first chart below, orders were flowing in both directions. Emini Futures | Robin Dayne The Traders Coach

Down 191-points in early trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  DJIA staged a strong rally to end down only 6.66 points on the day at 12,496.15.

The S&P 500 Index SPX gained 2.23 points to close at 1,318.86.

The Nasdaq Composite COMP also turned around, adding 11.04 points to close at 2,850.12.

US Markets have done their very best to keep a stiff upper lip and shrug of the Facebook Apocalypse. We are now well into the Wednesday session on a Tuesday night (Globex), and she's looking a little tired, wobbling on her heels, after all it has been a rough few days. The Facebook (FB)was supposed to have changed everything, a Knight in shinning armor.

Sure we all heard it before but this time it was supposed to be different right? With a net worth 100 times greater than the New York Times and so many friends... so many friends... this was no bubble, this was about flying cars and mining asteroids. This was Bono and the Great State of California and even poor Morgan Stanley (MS). I wonder if he'll ever find work again? It's been a rough patch for all the Morgans, even Jamie.

Emini Futures | The Day Facebook Killed The Markets

It was a beautiful spring morning in Menlo Park. Blue sky, puffy clouds, and hooded hackers as far as the eye could see. Messr. Zuckeburg chose not travel to NYC, instead the Nasdaq came to his highness and from his headquarters - the kingdom that Mark built - he rang the opening bell.

Keep in mind there is no physical "NASDAQ bell". It's just a term borrowed from the old days. The NYSE once upon a time actually used a metal bell to alert those on the floor that trading had begun. Instead, Zuckerberg pressed a Like button and signed a screen to symbolically open NASDAQ trading for the day and thus began a historically tragic day on Wall Street.
