Rule Based Trading - 4 Steps To Emini Success
We've all fantasized at some point in our trading career about a simple set of rules. If we just followed them day in and day out, all our Emini Dreams would come true. Many of us have spent more hours, weekends, days off and holidays chasing that formula than our wives care to remember.
Time after time, we experienced our eureka moment, when the world stood still because finally.. at last.. we had distilled the perfect concoction, the most excellent vintage ever bottled was ours at last. Ours and ours alone. From this point forward we would rule the world, in a benevolent way of course...
Eureka
This time we really have it, or do we? The daily recaps are posted here on the site, go have a look. Day after day, week after week, the numbers are stacking up. Aren't I afraid I'll jinx things by talking about it? Not really. If it's that fragile I don't want anything to do with it. I've been down that road too many times before.
I really do believe this is different. Have we made some earth shattering discovery? Will our names go down in the history books with the likes of Fibonacci, Gann, Elliot, and to a lesser degree, Bollinger, Wilder and Williams? I doubt it. I'm not attempting false modesty here, I just doubt it. Why? The work of the men mentioned are all very deep, intricate, mind bending journeys into the underworld of subjectivity. Some would say it even tugs at the very fabric of the universe. Their concoctions, part mercury and part ether, paint one heck of a memory the morning after, but even the bravest of souls and brightest of minds are stupefied by it in the light of day.
What they offer is complicated, thought provoking, compared to fine wine it might be a precious bottle of 1811 Château d’Yquem. By comparison, we're serving up coffee in a paper cup from a hospital vending machine. Certainly an odd analogy, and why you might ask, are we at the hospital in the first place? To bind up the broken hearted who invested a lifetime chasing visions of genius and mumblings of madmen. We go where we're needed.
So who am I to take pot shots at such great men. Nobody.
Well then good sir, what qualifies you? Nothing.
I've been there, drank the kool-aid, lived to tell about it and I'm still thirsty. How 'bout you?
4 Steps To Emini Success
All joking aside, I will forever admire the great works of those who came before me. What breaks my heart is that for all their passion, their hard work and vision, most traders who attempt to follow in their footsteps fall short of the glory. Whether it's the trader or the method, we all know the numbers. It's not pretty and I, Captain of the good ship CFRN.. vendor of all things E-mini, should probably shy away from talking about the lousy success rate of would be traders, but if I did, I would be more traitor than trader.
If you've never read my "story", it's here on the site. Go read it and take a box of tissue. It's a true story. Not pretty, but factual. We are the sum total of our parts and it's now my part to tell you that what we have now put before our Partners, should be the last thing they'll ever need to trade.
Whoa! That's big talk. Go get compliance.
Calm down and hear me out. All we've done is strip away the final shroud of mystery. Our tag line has always been "Trading's Not Easy - But It Can Be Simple", we just managed to make it a little simpler. In fact, we've pretty much stripped it bare naked so I don't think you'll see anything simpler than this, which is also why our names won't be carved in stone with the fellows I mentioned earlier. It's too simple.
People take one look and go, "You gotta' be kidding me, I could do that".
Michael and I just grin and do the Virtual Hi-5 when their backs are turned.
That's the whole point. You can do it. You don't have to be tall, smart, or well endowed. I was referring to money. You simply have to embrace the concept with the innocence of a child.
- A market (any market) makes a move. We qualify and quantify the move.
- That market pauses and or reverses the move.
- The market continues its journey
- If the market stretches our slingshot during the retrace or the pause, we run with the continuation until we've met our daily goal of 8 ticks.
There you have it. Most people won't use it because it's too simple. No waves to count or fibs to pull. We use 2 indicators. The first one tells you if you're going to be a buyer or a seller. It also tells you exactly when to enter the market. The only thing you have to do is check the Slingshot to make sure it supports the direction of the trade. If it doesn't, you don't have a trade. Wait a few minutes.. you probably will.
Your Chance To Succeed
So do I feel stupid for all the years I spent chasing nightmares? Am I bitter for all the money and time wasted when the answer was staring me in the face all along? Not really. (o.k. a little) As I mentioned earlier, we are the sum of our parts. Had I not been down the highway to hell, I might not truly appreciate this little slice of heaven I have now. I take that back, I'm sure I would appreciate it enough to use it, but maybe not enough to feel compelled to take it to the masses. Then where would you be?
So here's the deal. We'll teach you how to use our system for 5 days. We'll let you use our charts and even our indicators. We'll answer all your questions along the way. We won't charge you anything during those 5 days. In fact, we'll even give you a simulator to use. This way, without spending a dime, you can prove to yourself whether or not you can follow these 4 Simple Steps. If you can't, no harm no foul. If on the other hand, you recognize the elegance in our paper cup, we'll invite you to become a CFRN Partner and we'll invest the next 90 days of our lives helping you build your own Emini Trading Business.
