Emini Futures Daily News - 08/11/17

The sell-off in the S&P 500 Emini Futures which we alerted subscribers to Wednesday night, began @ 10:30pm EDT 08/09/17 and our entry price emailed to subscribers2468, is highlighted on the chart below.  

From the 50% retracement highlighted on previous charts, the move appears to have bottomed for now at 2432/2433 which is a 62% Fib Extension based off the 50% Fib retracement @ 2472/2473 down to the swing low at 2442.75 and the retracement back to  2453.50 . 

Prepare for a bounce when Globex opens for trading Sunday night at 6pm EDT.

Fibonacci And The Emini Traders Toolbox

Always remember, what we Traders refer to as Fibonacci (was actually a man). It is woven into our DNA, a flower, a seashell, the very fabric of the universe. The tiny sliver we have managed to harness for the purposes of trading, are but a very small part of something much larger that modern science may never fully understand.

While it is an integral part of a Trader's Toolbox, it IS NOT a standalone trading methodology for Emini Futures, Stocks, Options, Bitcoin, or anything else. It works beautifully as a confirmation tool, and is quite powerful at determining both short and long term price targets.

What makes me so certain? I spent several years and thousands of dollars chasing my own tail because I was told (and believed), that it was all one needed to be a consistently profitable trader. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Emini Futures Weekly Trading Zones

We have published the Zones every Monday Morning @ 6:15am EDT since December 14, 2009 for all CFRN Partners. Each Thursday we reveal the current weeks Zones for the S&P 500 / Dow and Russell Emini Futures, plus Crude Oil, to the entire CFRN Community. 

We have some Partners who simply use the Zones to reach their trading goals on a daily basis. Most CFRN Partners use them as a backdrop to the Rules Based Trading Methodology we teach M-F (2 hours a day) inour Live Emini Training Room.

After 6 to 9 months of publicly publishing the zones, we noticed a unique phenomena. Almost without fail, by the close of business each Friday, price on the S&P 500 Emini would either be, at or below the highest weekly zone, or.. at or above the lowest weekly zone.

A quick Google of CFRN Emini Weekly Trading Zones will provide you with numerous articles of varying length. Also, clicking the 'images tab' at the top of the Google Search Page will show you charts reaching back as far as our first posting on 12/14/09.

This week was no different. While price did manage to break below the lowest weekly zone for a number of hours Thursday night and into Friday morning (perfectly normal), by the close of the session, we were back above the lowest weekly zone, true to form as you can see on the Emini Chart below.

Too Much Too Quick?

Enough Already says my Emini Mentor

When is enough, enough? When does enough become too much? Every successful Emini Trader will have to face this moral dilemma at some point. Of course some will say - "I should be so lucky as to have that problem".  My response then, is "You just hit the nail on the head." Huh?

Luck, it rhymes with schmuck, puck, stuck and some other things we don't broadcast on family radio. My point is this, the Trader who comes to the office each day "hoping to get lucky" or praying that "luck will shine on him or/ her", should just spend the day at home in bed.

If a guy (any guy), at Palo Verde (our local nuclear plant) wakes up hoping he will be lucky enough today not to blow up Phoenix, I need to move. If you wake up concerned that today could be the day you blow up your Trading Business - "Step Away from the Platform", you need to move, to another job.

Not Every Emini Trader Is A Crook Or A Thief

We're so transparent we have to be extremely careful just crossing the street. A number of Trading Rooms have been shuttered and fined this year due to nefarious business practices. The CFTC is just warming up. 2017 is going to clear the landscape. We follow every rule and regulation published by the CFTC. They didn't make us, it just so turned out that if you have a conscious, care about your clients, use live charts, do what mom and grandma taught you growing up, it's not so very far off from the CFTC and NFA requirements.

Pizza who? PizzaGate. It all spawned from Anthony Wiener's "laptop device" which sounds creepy in and of itself. The National Public Radio (NPR) did an extensive piece on Comet Pizza and Ping Pong including an interview with the owner/operator of Comet Pizza.

Flash Boys and Author Michael Lewis Are Back in The News

It's been a year since we were heartbroken by an article in Forbes proclaiming the Retail Trader was dead. Oddly, we're still here and frankly, trading has never been better. Now it may have something to do with the way the world defines a Professional Trader. Google > "Define Professional Trader" and you'll see our take on the matter is somewhat unique.

So even though we were proclaimed dead, everyone sang Danny Boy and much Irish Whiskey (Special Reserve) was put away that dreadful and dreary day. Turns out the worst part of it all was the hangover. We were supposed to be corpus delecti and yet we woke up, stumbled into the office and proceeded to trade and train our Partners just as we had a thousand times before.

Not only did we survive the news of our demise, I was motivated to pen an article - How CFRN Emini Method Profits From Flash Boys. I broke it down in plain english, no doubt saving Wall Street, Main Street and the Universe at large. Truth has that kind of power.

Certainly Michael Lewis made a pretty penny from the book. The folks that Co-Locate the Servers and sell the Fiber Optic did well also. Forbes actually sold a few magazines for a change and on the 1 year anniversary of the book's release (today), CNBC couldn't find anything else to talk about. Slow news day.

Where Are The Flash Boys Now

Last December I got curious and issued a B.O.L.A. on the Flash Boys. It was creatively called "Where are the Flash Boys Now?". I never got an answer. It was all part of this existential, rhetorical life I lead atop my ivory tower behind the fortified walls of the CFRN Compound.

Wherever they are, let us not forget the man who penned the original op-ed in Forbes. John Wasik said:

"Short-term trading is a loser’s game for most individuals. How can you compete against robots and ultra-fast fiber optics? You can’t. So forget about day trading. It’s a sucker’s game; even if you think you have the best information and insights in the world, you are not going to get a fair price. You can’t beat the machines."

I'm sure glad we didn't fall for that. I refuse to discuss his clever self plug at the bottom since I myself am a shameless hussy who self-promotes every opportunity I get. However, had we bought Mr. Wasik's tale of woe, none of these trade from today would have been possible.

Something about it just feels right for the type of Trade Signals we put out. No limitation on characters, no limits on Trading Charts, real time date stamp and the feel of something new and different. For quite some time we attempted to post everywhere. True story... every place I just mentioned, I hit them all for awhile with every single Trade Signal. It became a bit too much.

I realize their are ways to automate things. Post once on a 3rd Party App and it rushes around and does the manual labor for you. I'm considering it... weighing the options... but as I mentioned, I really like the sense of community over at Google+. Of course there's this other thing too... the 800 pound gorilla in the room that everyone keeps asking about.

How long will I continue to give away Daily Emini Trade Signals?

To be honest, I had planned to stop long ago. The idea was simply to establish a consistent public track record and then do what everyone else does, once you've hooked 'em... reel 'em in.  Now to be honest, I've awoke many days and said to myself...

"Self, today's the day. Your radio station is successful by the grace of God, your flagship show is heard round the world, you've taught and are teaching daily, hundreds of traders from all walks of life, from around the world... to become successful Emini Day Traders in your own Live Emini Trading Room. There's only one piece of your business plan left to execute and today is the day".

With every good intention I would walk into the studio prepared to make the announcement on air and follow it up with an email blast to thousands and of course push the news out to all the Social Media Networks. Well a funny thing happened on the way to pulling the plug. Somehow it seems, that every time I had finally convinced myself it was time (past time), I would open my email to find a heartfelt Thank You from someone who was truly appreciative for the Trade Alerts sent out the night before. Often after the thank you it would go something like...

 "With your help I'll soon have the funds to take your Day-Trading Course and have a properly funded account to do some real tradng. Thank you for what you do."

Well stink. How do you pull in the lifeline after that? Now don't get me wrong, we don't always get it right. I mean go look for yourself. I know that many of you reading this article have followed every trade and our results on a daily basis since we started. You guys are the ones wrestling with the 800 pound gorilla. Others will read this for the first time and say "Give me a break". Eventually though, your curiosity will get the best of you and late at night when everyone's sleeping (except me), you'll go look. Calculator, slide rule, your own charts on the screen. You'll scratch your head and wonder. I know I do.

Past Performance Is No Guarantee of Future Results

People do stumble in after the fact and get worked into a frenzy and make huge plans and when they contact me I say "Calm down". I'm happy that you're happy, but as I just said, Past Performance Is No Guarantee of Future Results. I could slip tomorrow and bump my head and suddenly... it's all gone. The knack, the ability,  I might never get another one right. If that happens (and I pray it doesn't) man have we had one heck of a run or what? I could live with that.

So this article is not the "pull the plug" article, but it really is coming... it has to. I have to close the doors and surround myself with those who have faithfully followed us, understand the potential and teach them how to do it themselves. It's not only the final piece of our business plan, but if I get a bunch of you Emini Traders properly trained (not just to Day-Trade, but to compile your own Emini Signals) then if I do bump my head, I have somewhere to go to get reliable trades and I can continue on... following you. It's a 2-fer, I generate revenue teaching you and I also create an insurance policy for myself, my wife and my kids. 

So feel free to do your back testing (ask me on air someday how worthless back testing is) or your forward walk, or just go look at the results which speak for themselves. However, since the past doesn't predict the future or the Futures, your best bet is to fall in step for the days and weeks to come. However many of them are left. I've been open and honest all along. Way back there in those Tweets you'll find one that says "The Gandhi Years Are Over".  That's when Michael and I started the "Pay for Play" Day Trading School. We had been doing it for years, for free.

Self Realization - A Fundamental Part Of Learning How To Trade 

I guess as I just wrote that, I realized... that is our business model. We give it away (for awhile) and then, like any other hard working, God fearing business, we have to pay the bills. You understand right? So make hay while the sun shines and when the word comes out, be prepared to make a decision. I can only teach so many at a time. There could be a waitng list. I really don't know. I'm sure when the sun rises on that day, Michael will have it all figured out. He's smart like that.

S&P 500 Emini Market Update For July 8, 2014

#SP500 - #Emini  #Futures consider being short below 1958. We've already hit 2 of the LTP Targets I wrote about Saturday night. Last night our Alert to be short the #ES below 1969 triggered once for 2 points and then again for 16 points. (important prices and important areas are almost always tested)

However if you're just trading the Blueprint, it's 2 points and done for the day right? If you're not on the Blueprint we have the LTP below and also a Weekly Trading Zone below that. If the market runs north tonight, we're going to pass................

Doesn't mean you have to or should... just letting you know where our eyes are, at least for now.  

Also remember, FOMC Meeting Minutes are released tomorrow July 9th at 2pm EDT. This is a high impact report and possesses the potential to create high volatility across all market sectors. The minutes offer detailed insights regarding the FOMC's stance on monetary policy. Traders carefully examine them for clues regarding the outcome of future interest rate decisions.

Goldman Sachs (GS) until recently had forecast the first Fed Interest Rate Change under new Fed Chief Janet Yellen would not come until the first quarter of 2016. They have now updated their forecast to the final quarter of 2015.

The hourly chart below covers the SP500 E-mini from the holiday close July 4th at 12pm EDT through early Tuesday evening July 8th. The yellow arrow shows the exact close for last week 1975.50, inside of our highest Weekly Trading Zone for last week.

Since then our first Alert of the week to be short below 1969 has been triggered offering 2 trade opportunities for a total range of 18 points. The market has reached a 38% Fibonacci Retracement from the new all time historic high put in last Thursday at 1978.25 to the swing low reached today at 1953.00. If this Fibonnacci level holds, we anticipate lower prices which could take us as low as 1941.00 by close of business this Friday.

Traders are cautioned to be flat and/or well protected by hard stops ahead of the FOMC Minutes.

Emini Futures - Is This The Top?

(05/12/14) Attention All Partners - Either my "under the weather" pattern is worse than I thought, or we are potentially approaching a major reversal of the newly christened CFRN 4 Horsemen #ES   / #YM   / #NQ   / #RL   .

If this reversal were to happen quickly and without warning, every talking head on #CNBC   will be blindsided except the token Perma-Bears kept on board so at least somebody can pound their chest on any given day. Of course the lovely Jim Cramer is always right no matter what happens. Days before Bear Stearns imploded he stated they (BS) were uncategorically the safest investment on the planet. 2 days after the demise he was back in a little row boat screaming "I warned you".

So our Extreme Zone Indicator may be wrong for once in a blue moon. My best advice as we appear poised to peak tonight is the same advice we gave in the Live Trading Room today, talk to Burt @ 866-928-3310. He's our #Options guy and just because #Puts   are "dirt cheap" up here with the bulls storming Wall Street and Main Street, it doesn't mean it's the right trade for you.

I can only speak from a historical perspective over the past 4 years of publishing Zones. If we crack the top overnight or early tomorrow, history says look out below. 

... but hey, maybe this time it's different.

S&P 500 Emini Futures 05/12/14

05/14/14  #SP500   #Emini   #WeeklyTradingZones  have given CFRN Partners a beautiful ride so far this week. The first Zone to Zone move was from 1878/1879 up to 1884/1885, a 5 point move. Next we ran from the 1884/85 Zone up to our highest Weekly Trading Zone @ 1897/1898 which was good for 12 points.

Here we remarked that the potential for a sizable #ES   down move could be in the cards. Today we did see the 12 point move back down to 1884/85.  So far, price has traveled 29 Points from Zone to Zone to Zone to Zone. 29 points X $50 per point =  $1,450.00 per contract. 

As you can see on the chart below, the 1884/85 Zone has provided support now for 6 hours. Will it hold and launch a rally back to the highs? Or does the next move take us back down to the 1878/79 Zone? 

It's one or the other...    as always

GeoEngineering Watch Interview w/ Dane Wiggington

On today's show we spoke for an hour with GeoEngineering expert Dane Wiggington for the first time. (2nd hour of the program)

What if it were so masterfully stigmatized and wrapped in controversy that if you thought it strange or concerning, you’d be scorned or ignored?

 It sounds like science fiction, but it’s not. It’s happening right above you, and it’s called “geoengineering”. Be sure and listen to our interview today with Dane by clicking the headphones above. Dane proved himself a true gentleman, unflappable in his demeanor as Mr. Wiliams beat the air with every possible "anti-conspiracy" theory out there... most of which had absolutely nothing to do with the topic we were discussing. Every time I leaned forward to stop the barrage, Dane's calm voice stilled the air waves. Truth mixed with evidence it turns out, is an incredibly heady elixir capable of soothing the most savage of beasts (almost).

Did today's show turn me into a believer? Well, let's say it convinced me of something I've suspected for a very long time, but that's a story for another day. Enjoy the interview! Who is Dane Wiggington?

Dane has a background in solar energy. He is a former employee of Bechtel Power Corp. and was a licensed contractor in California and Arizona. He has been engaged in constant climate/geoengineering research for over a decade.

His personal residence was feature in a cover article on the world’s largest renewable energy magazine, Home Power. He owns a 1,600-acre “wildlife preserve” next to Lake Shasta in northern California.

Dane put all his focus, efforts and energy on the geoengineering issue when he began to lose very significant amounts of solar uptake due to the ever-increasing “solar obscuration” caused from jet aircraft spraying in the skies above his forest home. He also noted significant decline in forest health was occurring and appeared to be accelerating. Extensive testing and research into the geoengineering issue was commenced and has continued since 2002.

He is the lead researcher for GeoEngineeringWatch and has investigated all levels of geo engineering from stratospheric aerosol geoengineering (SAG) to HAARP. He has appeared in numerous films, and radio interviews to educate the public on the extremely dire environmental and health dangers we face on a global level from geoengineering. Dane lives in Shasta County, California.

Feedback from our audience was overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to having both Dane and Wayne Jett back on the show in the very near future. Although this is certainly one heated hour of dramatic radio (read: good radio), I have made an executive decision that the next interview will be less combative and we will be able to dig deeper into the subject matter at hand.

Are You Using Tradestation For Emini Futures?

TradeStation is one of the most widely used platforms among both retail and professional traders. I believe many traders are initially tempted by the term EasyLanguage. It takes about 5 minutes to realize it's anything but easy. In fact, the second decision most TradeStation users make is to buy the book - "TradeStation Made Easy". We will cover this topic on our next Emini Podcast.

Is TradeStation Overkill?

Tradestation is quite possibly overkill for the trader who desires to simply trade Emini Futures. If you are going to dabble in options, develop your own strategies, do extensive back-testing etc... this could perhaps be a marriage made in digital heaven.

Ask yourself this - "Are you a tinkerer or a trader?" All traders tinker in the beginning, it's our nature, but we soon realize that we must focus on one or the other. Otherwise we become bogged down in the art of "putting an edge on our edge" and we never really get down to the business of trading for a living.

Don't get me wrong, there are men and women who wear both hats quite well. If that were not possible, the CFRN Emini Method® would not exist. 

CFRN Emini Method®

Our methodology and indicators were originally handcrafted in a TradeStation Laboratory. The Founder and Head Trader / Tinkerer at CFRN are both certified TradeStation Developers. We are eternally grateful for the robust platform that allowed us to engineer what we believe to be the most streamlined method available for trading Emini Futures. 

One of the drawbacks were the multitude of toys at our disposal. With so many shiny things to play with, and so many ways to observe them and stratify them, it was difficult to get any real work done. However, without it, the work would not have been done. Quite the conundrum right?

Again, we are back to the place of  why we need it. For a humble Emini Futures Trader, the answer may be quite an easy one - YES! For the professional who will earn his living as a developer vs. a trader, the answer is equally as simple - NO!
