Are You Using Tradestation For Emini Futures?
TradeStation is one of the most widely used platforms among both retail and professional traders. I believe many traders are initially tempted by the term EasyLanguage. It takes about 5 minutes to realize it's anything but easy. In fact, the second decision most TradeStation users make is to buy the book - "TradeStation Made Easy". Is TradeStation Overkill?
Tradestation is quite possibly overkill for the trader who desires to simply trade Emini Futures. If you are going to dabble in options, develop your own strategies, do extensive back-testing etc... this could perhaps be a marriage made in digital heaven.
Ask yourself this - "Are you a tinkerer or a trader?" All traders tinker in the beginning, it's our nature, but we soon realize that we must focus on one or the other. Otherwise we become bogged down in the art of "putting an edge on our edge" and we never really get down to the business of trading for a living.
Don't get me wrong, there are men and women who wear both hats quite well. If that were not possible, the CFRN Emini Method® would not exist.

One of the drawbacks were the multitude of toys at our disposal. With so many shiny things to play with, and so many ways to observe them and stratify them, it was difficult to get any real work done. However, without it, the work would not have been done. Quite the conundrum right?
Am I here to slay TradeStation or put it on a pedestal? Neither and both. How's that for an answer? Guess where I learned it... Bingo! We had to pull ourselves out of the world where all things are possible and plant our feet on firm ground where some things are probable.
Is TradeStation Too Expensive?
Again, we are back to the place of why we need it. For a humble Emini Futures Trader, the answer may be quite an easy one - YES! For the professional who will earn his living as a developer vs. a trader, the answer is equally as simple - NO!
For the dedicated Emini Trader who has no desire to venture outside the world of Commodities and Options, we've found the dtPro Platform to be a perfect fit for most CFRN Partners. In all honesty, this is highly unlikely. First there's the cost, then the security, then the distractions. We want our Partners to be hyper-focused on one thing and one thing only - Making Money Daily. Put me in a room with too many shiny things and I'll find too many reasons to play instead of work.
Once upon a time, we said the same thing about NinjaTrader. I must admit their devotees were relentless. They lobbied and lobbied and blew the door open. If there's anything at all I've learned in this business of trading, always embrace every possibility, even if it's not a high probability.
