Until you are consistently profitable day in and day out. No two people are the same, but you should anticipate a minimum of 30 days. The more probable scenario is 60-90. There is no rush. The markets will still be there when you're 100% ready. Capital preservation is your primary goal at this stage of building your new Emini Trading business. How long before I will be able to trade 10 contracts? Your own success will determine that. First you have to be consistently profitable in the simulator. When you do begin trading live, you will only trade 1 contract. Even though you were profitable in the simulator, once you go live there will be additional bugs to work out as you learn to deal with the psychology of real money trading. At 2 points per day net, you could be earning $100 per day on average. We want to see you add $1,000 of profit to your trading account before you move up to 2 contracts. This could happen in 2 weeks. If it takes longer, you'll learn to be patient. Once you've earned the right to trade 2 contracts, you will have the ability to earn $200 per day averaging just 2 points per day net. In 5 days you could add another $1,000 of profit to your trading account. If you do, then you've earned the right to trade 3 contracts. As you can see, it all happens pretty fast. However, you must be willing to lay the proper foundation and spend as much time in the simulator as necessary to become consistently profitable before trading live. There is no shortcut to success.
